OEM forged steel connecting rod from the Volkswagen Group EA390 VR6 3.6 FSI naturally aspirated engine (engine code CGR / CGRA, block casting 03H 021 AJ). This precision-engineered I-beam connecting rod features fracture-split (cracked cap) big end technology — the jagged mating surface visible on the cap joint ensures perfect realignment during assembly, superior to conventional machined surfaces. The rod is milled from forged steel (not cast), with a trapezoidal small end eye design unique to the VR6 platform. Center-to-center length is 164 mm (6.457"), with a 20 mm wrist pin bore at the small end and approximately 56.7 mm journal diameter at the big end. The connecting rod bearings are molybdenum-coated for reduced friction and extended service life. Visible forging identification marks are stamped into the big end area. Rod bolt torque specification is 30 Nm + 90° (angle-torque method).
